The discussion board for non-component-related quiet pc discussions. Post by intx » Fri Mar 11, pm What keyboard remains in production that, from anyone who has utilized and usually liked the Logitech UltraX find an acceptable replacement?

Re: Good alternative to UltraX Keyboard? It’s just a little smaller, does not have the trendy appearance, and it is nearly as quiet as the UltraX, but it is essentially an attempt to copy. It’s very cheap. Another alternative I tried is the Logitech illuminated Keyboard with Backlighting. It’s therefore peaceful it generates the UltraX seem noisy.

It’s an extra product. I will admit, though, i did not enjoy it. The letters are laser etched about the keys, meaning they are transparent, and that means you need the backlighting even during daylight. The letters are found in the middle of the secrets, which will simply take some getting used to if you are a hunt-and-peck typist.

It’s expensive — I got mine at about half price however it still was not cheap. Post by goatsandmonkeys » Sat Mar 12, am i do believe logitech nevertheless tends to make scissor switch keyboards. I woudl reccomend buying the most affordable one available. Rubber dome based keyboards appear to need replacing rapidly. Article by Vicotnik » Sat Mar 12, was i’ve exactly the same problem. I enjoy my Logitech UltraX flat and I have a spare one just in the event. I have tried the Ace KL but didn’t enjoy it.

The brand new form of the UltraX can be no-good. That Rosewell board seems really nice but I cannot believe it is here in Sweden. For simpler designs, check Cherry Easyhub, and Cherry Infinity. The Cherry people usually takes far more discipline than Logitech items. Which has been the best keyboard when it comes to past 5 years approximately! I would better get myself an extra one rapidly, if i will get a hold of one. Edit: discovered one for 12,99GBP on e-bay! There is nevertheless significantly more than 10 available, with reasonable shipping prices.

Ebay item is For German users there is lots more on ebay, but others probably won’t wish the German layout. Post by AhamB » Sat Apr 30, pm Vicotnik wrote: That is apparently the newer variation sometimes labeled as ‘premium’. It’s still available in many places however it has not got the same experience whilst the original UltraX Flat. Post by intx » Sat Apr 30, pm AhamB had written: Vicotnik penned: That appears to be the newer variation often called ‘premium’. Thanks a lot when it comes to heads up on the UK layout being different — I just checked it out and the just difference I see is that the enter secret is L-shaped while the backspace is a little key using the backslash into the remaining from it.

The backspace becoming little could be style of inconvenient — I like it being big a great deal more than a big enter secret. Possibly i will cancel my purchase I have a Logitech mouse that works really like that. Article by mastabog » Thu Aug 02, pm I do also but that’s irrelevant. I am interested with this particular keyboard, the UltraX.

So it should work. Post by Vicotnik » Wed Aug 29, pm Oh, sorry. It has the classic layout, with insert, del, home, end, pgup and pgdn within the appropriate location. LEDs are emerald and not too bright. I also such as the color. The tips travel “true”, as in a repeating, uniform style. This adds self-confidence to typing, as you possibly can reliably tell when the key is activated. My Ducky’s lights could potentially cause retinal damage in prolonged use.

And unfortunate that no body has found an excellent replacement. I have a number of UltraX. I am embarrassed to express the main one I’m using at this time is so filthy it seems gluey on humid days.

Regrettably i simply don’t know of worthwhile replacement for these. UltraX keyboards have the best key response I have actually ever seen from a keyboard. Every other keyboard feels cheap in comparison. If only I may find an ergonomic keyboard like of the the outdated microsoft keyboards from many years past, but with ultrax keys i will repeat myself by stating that the tips associated with Illuminated Keyboard are more advanced than even those of the UltraX.

A lot better than the corded Logitech illuminated keyboard I have one of working that I think may be out of production now. I do desire manufacturers will make even more keyboards without a numeric pad – I believe it is completely redundant, all it can is move my mouse 10cm off to the right back at my work desk. Post by Mats » Tue Sep 11, pm Have anyone used one of these?

Fujitsu KB, KB Different key profile, I’d love to decide to try one tho. That you don’t possess needed permissions to see the data mounted on this post. Tried a few while establishing them up. They seem to have no scissor mechanics and do feel ordinary cheap compared to the cherry.

However they are quiet and appearance appropriate, typing is sufficient, so that it depends. This keyboard is a bit larger and also the buttons are smooher to push. But the overall “feeling” of the keys is quite good it is not as “snappy” as UltraX, but nevertheless good.

I asked right from Fujitsu and also this keyboard must have the scissor method havn’t inspected however. I am happy with this keyboard. Ideally it’s going to last as long since the UltraX performed.
